Robert Orange, from CIBC Wood Gundy, was the original organizer of the Chelsea Challenge way back in 1990. For years Robert ran the Chelsea Challenge with the support of Greg Christie. In later years Robert started a fundraising dinner at Les Fougères to supplement the funds earned through the Chelsea Challenge. In the early 2000s Robert began handing the organization of the Chelsea Challenge over to Stephen Lynott, but stayed on for many years as an active supporter of the event. Still today Robert provides financial support for the event and comes out and joins us each year to cheer on our runners and sound the horn at the start of the race. We appreciate all of Robert’s ongoing support for this great cause and thank him for showing the rest of us how rewarding it is to give back.

Stephen Lynott, the owner of Century 21 Macintyre Inc., has been involved in the Chelsea Challenge since the early days but has been running it on his own since 2006. Year after year Stephen and Century 21 Macintyre Inc. provide the much needed funds to make this event happen. Stephen generously and selflessly supports us. Although his financial support is much needed and appreciated, his support goes way beyond the finances. Stephen works tirelessly each year to make the Chelsea Challenge the huge success that it is by doing things like setting up the race course, organizing food donations from local businesses, and even preparing the food and hot coffee for our runners.

Greg Christie, the owner of Greg Christie’s Ski and Cycle Works along with Robert Orange has been with the Chelsea Challenge since its inception. That means he has been volunteering his time and donating to the Chelsea Challenge for more than a quarter century! That’s giving at its finest! He has consistently been one of our biggest supporters by managing a large chunk of our registration over the years, generously supplying us with endless prizes for our runners and helping us make sure things run smoothly on race day. No request is too big for Greg; whatever we have asked him for he has delivered. We thank Greg for his ongoing support and look forward to the next quarter century!

Charlie Part and Jennifer Warren, owners of Les Fougères, one of the finest restaurants in the region, are very very generous supporters of the Chelsea Challenge. Every community could use a Charlie and Jennifer, because, although they support us and we appreciate it, they also support many other local groups by donating their time, their delectable food, their beautiful restaurant space as well as food and gifts from their lovely shop. Les Fougères has grown and thrived in this community and it is no doubt in part due to the kind and giving nature of these two owners – they are the epitome of “Giving Back”.
